Abstract

Communicating or interacting basically becomes human needs as social beings. The communication process occurs if there are speakers and opponents to say in it, both directly and written. The written communication process in the present era is a need that cannot be separated from people's lives. Various writing media continue to vary as the development of technology and communication facilitates the written communication process. The ease of written communication makes one can give comments or opinions to others. Some of these comments become new phenomena as a way of criticizing someone through written media so that the words or sentences used are not polite. Through this phenomenon, this study will discuss the violation of the principle or maxims of modesty that are in Joko Widodo's twitter comment column. The method in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data source is written data. The data collection technique uses the refer method, which is listening to the use of language in the comments column on Joko Widodo's twitter. The technique for collecting data is used, namely the recording technique. The researcher uses a recording device on the cellphone (cellphone) by means of screen capturing (screenshot) in Joko Widodo's twitter comment column, then the researcher records the data in the form of text and classifies it. The results of the study indicate that violations of maxims are found in the maxims of agreement. The causes of courtesy violations are due to several reasons, including: (1) disagreement with, (2) political contestation, and (3) feeling better.

Abstract

Indoglish is a unique and unique form of language and is a blend of English and Indonesian. The purpose of this study is to describe the phenomenon of indoglish language escalation in the public space of social media. The form of this study is descriptive qualitative which as a whole utilizes the methods of interpretation by presenting it in the form of descriptions of words. Research data comes from various written languages ​​obtained from facebook, whatsapp and instagram.. Data collection is used the method of note and note. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of the study show that there are a) form of indoglish language, b) classification of indoglish languages ​​based on Indonesian elements in foreign languages ​​and foreign elements in Indonesian, c) factors that cause indoglish language namely age, linguistic, historical, foreign language influences, word needs new, equivalent Foreign or non-standard words, and social and cultural.

Abstract

This research has some purposes: (1) describing the design for development of teaching materials for writing short story based on students’ experience, (2) describing the learning implementation of writing short story based on students’ experience, and (3) measuring the quality of teaching materials for writing short story based on students’ experience which is marked from validity, practicality, and effectivity. This research uses research and development method adapted from ten development methods by Borg & Gall consist of necessary analysis, plan, product initial draft organization, product design validity test, product design revision, trial I, product revision II, trial II, final product revision, and dissemination and implementation. The developed teaching materials quality could be seen from the validity test result which shows 90% as the material score, 88% as language score, 89% as presentation score, and 90% as graphics score which result 90% as the average value that means very valid criteria. The result of practicality test could be seen from the score of RPP (lesson plan) implementation which shows 92%, teachers’ response score which shows 89%, and students’ response score which shows 87% that result 89% as the average value which means very practical criteria. The result of effectivity test could be seen from teachers’ activity score which shows 93%, students’ activity score which shows 92%, and the result of students’ short story writing which shows 81% that result 89% as the average that means very effective criteria. Therefore, the researcher concludes the result for development of teaching materials for writing short story based on vocational high school (SMK) students’ experience is stated very valid, very practical, and very effective for used as teaching materials for writing short story based on vocational high school (SMK) grade XI students’ experience.

Abstract

Language is a tool to express an opinion or statement that will be conveyed to others. There are two types in language media, namely oral language and written language. One work that uses written language as a communication medium is a magazine. To write a magazine, you must use a language structure that is good and right or in accordance with the rules of language. But often times in a magazine there are still many mistakes, for example, in the 2018 edition of Pandawa magazine, there are errors in language spelling and at the syntactic level. Types of language errors at the spelling level include errors in letter usage, word writing, use of punctuation, and combination spelling. Types of language errors at the syntactic level include, discourse, sentences, clauses, and phrases. This study aims to describe language errors, especially at the spelling level and at the syntactic level. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative research, which describes the object of language errors in the 2018 edition of the Pandawa IAIN magazine. The techniques of data collection and data analysis are (1) collecting language errors, (2) identifying errors based on linguistic level (syntax, phonology, morphology, and spelling), (3) ranking errors, i.e. sorting errors based on the number of errors, (4) explaining conditions, explaining what is wrong, the cause of errors, and how to correct errors, (5) predicting linguistic level that is prone to errors, (6) correcting errors, namely correcting errors, finding the right way to reduce or eliminate these errors. The results of this study, namely errors in the spelling level in the Pandawa IAIN Surakarta magazine, there are capital letters writing errors, italics, punctuation marks, and hyphens; errors at the syntactic level in the Pandawa IAIN Surakarta magazine, there are mistakes in phrases, and sentences.

Abstract

The learning method, especially in speaking skill learning, is less varied, consequently the learning process tends to be unable to explore the student’s competence in speaking. Therefore, the researcher sees the need to develop FT-V learning method. The objective of this study is to develop FT-V learning method for the ninth graders in Madina integrated Islamic junior high school Samarinda. This study uses Research & Development (R&D) method by using development proposed by Brog and Gall which includes 10 develipments steps. The data sources in this study are nine grade students in Madina integrated Islamic junior high school Samarinda. Data collection is done by means of sequencing, tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The development of this learning method was declared very feasible by both validators, namely expert validator of learning method and Practitioners. Based on the results of the field tests, FT-V method was also considered to be able to increase the value of student learning outcomes through a field test process. The observation results of student’s learning activities by observer I and II stated very well.
